Our Lady the Mother of China is an image of the Virgin with the Child in her arms, with imperial vestments and throne.
In 1996 a Chinese artist painted a painting with the Icon of the Empress of China. The image was widely distributed throughout Asia.
Years later, inspired by the painting, a Spanish image maker carved the Image of the Mother of China that was taken in 2016 to the North Cathedral in Beijing.
In subsequent years, as devotion spread throughout the world, a New Chapelwas designed and constructed with a large imperial-style carved wooden throne.
The image can be venerated today in the Northern Cathedral (Beitang) in Beijing.
